Before I start this article, I am dismayed to say that the album review will be coming tomorrow. I just don't have enough time to do one today and I am terribly sorry about it.
Anyways, I was at the mall today. While I was there, I went into Gamestop, looking for Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games, which actually comes out tomorrow. But, what I did find there was a demo of a Nintendo Wii title coming out next Wednesday (November 14th), Super Mario Galaxy. I wanted to write a little bit about the game today.
This game is different from the past 3D Mario titles for a few reasons. First of all, while Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine take place on land, Super Mario Galaxy takes place in space!! The graphics of space are much imporved from the graphics of 64 and Sunshine. Second and most importantly, this game has much different gameplay from its 3D Mario preceders. This is because Super Mario Galaxy makes full use of the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combination and the motion-sensory of the Nintendo Wii. For instance, you use the Nunchuck control stick to move around, press A to jump, and spin the Wii Remote to use a spinning attack.
From playing the in-store demo, I can tell you that I look forward to playing Super Mario Galaxy. First of all, the graphics look amazing compared to any other Mario game. The settings look all polished up and Mario's looks have improved. Secondly, the gameplay is so creative, which I really like. Finally, it's a Mario game, and who doesn't love playing as the Nintendo mascot trying to beat the big, bad Bowser and save the stunning Princess Peach?? Of course, I wasn't able to get even one star with the time I had playing the demo, but I am sure I can do it when I get the game. Besides, with the added bonus of unlocking Luigi after 150 stars, you would probably want to get the first one as soon as possible.
As you can see, I am really awaiting the landing of Super Mario Galaxy to the US. The game seems like it really did deserve the title of second most awaited Wii game (First went to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess). Catch you tomorrow!!!
